Umrah is a smaller or minor pilgrimage that Muslims do for the sake of Allah Almighty all year long. The Arabic word Al-Itimar, from which the English word Umrah comes, means “a visit.” So, a pilgrim goes to the Holy Kabah to do one of the best religious acts, called “Umrah.” Which can be performed after booking Ramadan Umrah Prices 2023. Every pilgrim needs to know about the rituals and steps of Umrah and should know at least the basics so they don’t feel helpless when they get there.
Stages of umrah
Remember that you are going to stand in front of the person who made the whole universe, so you should get ready well. Umrah has four main steps. Ihram, Tawaf, Sa’ye, and the Haircut. Let’s talk about each of these steps in turn.
1. Stage One: Ihram
The first step of Umrah is Ihram, but before you can enter Ihram, you have to clean yourself. Prepare your mind and body by taking a bath and doing wudhu. This will help you be more productive. Remember that the Umrah will change your life, and that change will last for the rest of your life. For Allah’s sake, your goals must be good and pure. When you start your Umrah journey, you leave all your worldly comforts and family behind. Do your best to make it an experience you’ll never forget, and don’t fight or lose your cool.
Even before going to the Holy City of Makkah, a person starts an Umrah when they enter the state of Ihram. In the Bible, the word Ihram means to make something Haram, which means “forbidden.” The Ihram is a two-piece white sheet that men wear during the pilgrimage. The lower body is covered with one piece of sheet, and the other is wrapped around the shoulders. Niyyah and Talbiya are the real Ihram, but the two sheets that a Hajji wears are also very important. If a pilgrim puts on ihram but doesn’t say his Niyyah and Talbiya, he doesn’t become Muhrim. So, if someone covers his head during the two rakats of Nafil before Niyyah and Talbiya, it’s fine because he’s not really in Ihram. Ihram is a little different for men and women.
Ihram for men: As we said above, Ihram for men is made up of two white sheets that are not sewn together. He has to wrap a piece called (Izar) around his waist to cover his body from just above his navel to his ankles. The other piece, which covers his upper body and is called, is draped over his shoulder (Rida).
Ihram for women: There are no rules about ihram for women, so they can wear their regular clothes. So, women don’t have to wear a special piece of clothing to get into the state of Ihram. They can wear any kind of clothing that completely hides and covers their bodies except for their face and hands. But some authors say that women can also wear gloves.
2. Tawaf is the second step
One of the most important parts of Umrah is the Tawaf. Tawaf means going around something in a circle. In Tawaf, every pilgrim has to go around the Kabah seven times. Tawaf starts at the Black Stone, which is a stone from Jannah. The next thing pilgrims should know are the prayers of Tawaf. There are no set prayers for Tawaf, but here are some that are easy to remember:
“Subhan- Allah Wal- hamdu-lillahi wa la ilaha ill-Allah wa-Allahu Akbar wa la haula wa la quwwata illa- billah.”
If you can’t remember the whole dua, just say the following over and over again:
“Subhan- Allah Wal- hamdu-lillahi wa la ilaha ill-Allah”
3. The third stage is Sa’ey
The next important part of Umrah is Sa’ey, which is between Mount Safa and Mount Marwah. The Sa’ey ritual is done to remember how much Ismail’s mother, Bibi Hajra, loved him no matter what. Six steps make up the process of Sa’ey. Istilam of Hajra e Aswad, Sa’ey at Safa, climbing, moving toward Marwah, going to the top of Marwah, End of Sa’ey, two rakat Nafil. To do Sa’ey, you have to do all of these things. Before starting Sa’ey, the first thing to do is Istilam of Hajra e Aswad for the ninth time. The next step is to go toward Safa hill. When you get to Safa, go up the hill and say “Niyyah” for Sa’ey. Then say the following:
“Inn-as-Safa wal Marwah min Sha’a’irillah”
At mount Safa hill, you have to walk up to the top to see the Holy Kabaah. When you get to that point, you should face Kabaah and raise your hands in prayer. After you’ve done this, get off Safa Hill and start walking toward Marwah while you keep saying this prayer, called the third Kalma. When you reach the point between the two green pillars while moving, you have to make seven trips between Safa and Marwah. As far as Sa’ey is concerned, each of the seven rounds is about 3.5 kilometres. 5 about each time. Men have to run, but women can walk as fast as they want. The first round ends at Marwah. When you get to the top of Marwah, you should praise Allah Almighty and say the same prayers you said at Safa. After that first round is over, do the same thing again, and your second round will end in Safa, your third in Marwah, and so on for the other six rounds.
4. Stage Four: Haircut
The fourth step of Umrah is getting a haircut, shave, or trim. After finishing Sa’ey, men should either shave their heads or get their hair cut, but shaving is better. They have to shave all of their hair off or get it cut so that it is no longer than the top third of their finger or a little longer. While the women let their hair be locked and cut. Women are not allowed to shave their heads at all. After that, you can take off your Ihram because your Umrah is done with all of your rights and duties. May Allah grant every Muslim’s prayers and wishes during Umrah.
