Genshin Impact has an extremely continuous update schedule, and each new version of the game lasts around six to seven weeks. Assuming that the rumors about 2.8 being the last Inazuma arc update are valid, fans can anticipate that a new major update should drop around August 25.
The new update will introduce a brand-new locale to the game as well as the hotly anticipated Dendro component. A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed more potential information about a new character that should join the playable roster in the foreseeable future.
Late Genshin Impact leaks have revealed more possible details about a character whose appearance is apparently based on Su, a Honkai Impact third character who plays an important part in the game’s manga. Two solid leakers, Ubatcha1 and hxg_diluc, have been hinting that his name is actually Al-Haitham, and many fans suggest that his name is based on the popular Arab scientist, Hasan Ibn al-Haytham. This could be valid considering that each major locale in Genshin Impact is inspired by a real-life location, and according to numerous rumors, the new nation Sumeru is based on Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
This would not be the first time for Genshin Impact to base the design of their new characters on Honkai’s reality. For example, one of the as of late released characters, the Electro user Yae Miko has a ton of similarities with Honkai’s Yae Sakura. Indeed, even two of the popular Genshin Impact Archons, Venti and Raiden Shogun, have their respective counterparts in the other game. Another popular leaker by the name SaveYourPrimos has revealed additional information about his appearance.

With regards to his weapon of decision, Al-Haitham will apparently be the first sword user from Sumeru. While there are no leaks about his release date, it’s profoundly unlikely that he will join the roster in the first Sumeru update. There is already a ton of publicity in the community about this new character which is understandable since he will be using the new Dendro component.
The addition of a new component will probably have an enormous impact on the game’s meta as it will introduce two new Dendro elemental reactions named Overgrown and Intensified. The new Dendro component is supposed to arrive in the same update as the new major locale, especially considering that new leaks have been hinting at the addition of three new characters in update 3.0, two of which are Dendro users.
