The 2022 World Athletics Championships will take place from August 17 to 21 in Eugene, Oregon, in the United States. Since they were first held in Helsinki, Finland in 1983, the World Championships have never been held in the United States.
The newly built Hayward Field, scheduled to open in April 2021, will host the championships. In recent years, the Oregon Ducks have dominated at Hayward Field, taking home 12 NCAA Championships.
